Hey, guys!

Allie sent me a really cool image idea for the paper from the romance novels. Take a look and see what you think?

Installation

Hey guys! I'm not really sure what all happened on Friday, but it seems like maybe we're leaning towards a more modern look. I found a couple of images that seemed to tie into a few of the ideas we've discussed! I'm pretty sure if you click the images it will follow through to the website!

Sharon Arnold

Came across this by Sharon Arnold. Thought it'd be an interesting alternative to hair if we aren't able to get a hold of any.

Installation inspiration points

Below are some of the colors I think could be interesting. Given that it is the Halloween season/Fall there are a lot of muted colors coming out so I think leaning towards vibrant (not necessarily neon) colors would be a best bet. I also like how in some of the installations below having a primary color, whether warm or cool, and several of the opposite color family accented throughout.

In the first image I really like how fabric is used to transform the arch space. While getting that much fabric could be difficult maybe painted butcher paper or painted saran wrap crossing the ceiling of the gallery space can provide an instant transformation. Also I know some people were concerned about origami and how it works with the concept we are trying to develop. Maybe origami that is less literal/representational and more 2-dimensional so they can be layered maybe? Using different colors also like in the second image. I know these are small images so I included some links!

Andrew Bird concert at GA theater

I went to the Andrew Bird concert on Friday night and saw these sculptures and thought they were cool! They were made of wood and some type of paper and they spun the whole time! pretty!
